Beaulieu Vineyard, rooted in the benchlands of Rutherford in the Napa Valley, have been making wine since the turn of the century. Founded in 1900 by French immigrant Georges de Latour, Beaulieu, meaning "beautiful place" in French, began as a four-acre plot of land that Latour believed would bear fruit similar to that of his homeland. The 68-acre Honig vineyard is located in Rutherford, the heart of the Napa Valley. Louis Honig purchased the estate vineyard in 1964 and had planned, after a career in advertising, to retire there and make wine. Sadly, he died without producing any wine of his own.
