AZUL
500 Brickell Key Dr Miami, FL 33131
(305) 913-8254

One of my favorite chefs is Chef Clay Conley. He definitely knows how to cook up a feast with a blend of Mediterranean flavors with Asian influences. I love their scallops. There is a huge white marble open kitchen and raw bar vie for your attention with the floor to ceiling windows that showcase the picturesque bay views. Their wine list features more than 700 world-class wines. The award-winning wine list encompasses a mix of current releases, to classic vintages from the finest producers, with the latest boutique wineries worldwide.

The experience of this restaurant is definitely unforgettable. The atmosphere and service will get your spirits in an exciting mood. Though I do highly advise to check on dress requirements unless you know you are dressed appropriately.

SUSHI BLUES

Sushi Blues
2009 Harrison Street
Hollywood, FL 33020

Just a few miles north but still within the Miami Metro area in the newly swinging and upscale Downtown Hollywood, you will find the Sushi Blues Café. This reporter who lives on Hollywood Beach could not put together a “best of” Sushi list, without including one of his favorite local haunts. Its been said that Sushi is an art – and what better way to enjoy one art form then in the presence of another. Often imitated Sushi Blues is the quintessential place where “Asian Fusion” means as much about the cuisine as it does about the world famous Jazz and Blues musicians you can enjoy there almost any night of the week. A feast for the palate as all as the ears, Sushi Blues is a South Florida tradition that is not to be missed.

Anokha

ANOKHA

To me, there is something hauntingly romantic about many of the Indian eateries I have frequented. Located in trendy Coconut Grove, sits a place that serves up more than just Indian cuisine, they do it with an attitude. I would best describe the food here as intoxicating! Lilting Indian music fills the air, which I find extremely reflective and relaxing. If you or your date are not into Curries and the Indian spices you will love their Kabobs, and I have never had rice like they prepare it here. Something very romantic about this dining experience at Anokha.

Balans

BALANS
1022 Lincoln Rd. (Michigan Ave.)
Miami Beach, FL 33139
305-534-9191
Sunday brunch at Balans offers two things, wonderful fusion cuisine and the best patio on South Beach to people watch. Read your Sunday paper as you take in the aura of Miami, while enjoying an eclectic brunch menu that serves up Thai noodles, a variety of wraps and sandwiches, or a traditional hardy breakfast of eggs, bacon and potatoes – or try what some have said are the best eggs benedict in Miami. A London import, locals love Balans for its pet friendly patio, creative light and friendly fare, and great breakfasts at comparatively low prices. For a great “balance” of cool cuisine and fair prices on Lincoln Road, you just can’t beat Balans.
